Terms for companies

These terms apply when a company sends a role, orders a Shortlist Pack or pays a deposit on this site. Operators is the recruitment service of Boring Commerce LLP, India. By sending a brief or paying, you accept these terms on behalf of your company. A signed placement agreement, where we have one with you, takes precedence over this page.

  1. 01What we do

    • We find, test and shortlist candidates for the role you brief us on. You interview them and decide whom to hire. The hire is employed by you, unless you also use our employer of record service, which has its own agreement.
    • We don't guarantee that you will hire someone, or how a hire will perform.

  2. 02Fee

    • A percentage of the hire's annual CTC: Junior and mid: 12%; Senior: 15%; Director and above: 18% to 20%. The band is agreed with you in writing before we start.
    • Annual CTC means the fixed pay for the first year plus any guaranteed bonus or joining bonus, as written in the offer letter. It does not include variable pay that isn't guaranteed, or reimbursements.

  3. 03Deposit

    • A deposit is paid when you send a role, set by the role's CTC band.
    • CTC up to ₹12L: ₹15,000, or $180 for companies outside India.
    • CTC ₹12L to ₹20L: ₹20,000, or $240 for companies outside India.
    • CTC above ₹20L: ₹25,000, or $300 for companies outside India.
    • It is credited in full against the fee when your hire joins.
    • It is refunded in full if we don't share a shortlist within 10 working days of the payment.
    • Once a shortlist is shared, the deposit is not refunded. If you then fill the role through your own source, it moves to another role you send us within 6 months.

  4. 04Payment

    • The fee, less the deposit, is invoiced on your hire's joining date and is payable within 15 days.
    • Indian companies pay Boring Commerce LLP in rupees, by card, UPI or netbanking through Razorpay, or by bank transfer.
    • Companies outside India pay in US dollars by card through Stripe, collected by Boring Commerce LLC, our US company, or by wire transfer.
    • Payments made on this site are processed by Razorpay or Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

  5. 05Refunds

    • A refundable deposit or pack payment is returned to the account it came from within 7 working days of the refund being due.
    • A payment made twice by mistake is refunded in full.
    • To ask for a refund, email anish@boringcommerce.com with your reference. Bank or card charges on international refunds are not refunded.

  6. 06Replacement

    • One free replacement if your hire resigns, or is let go for performance or conduct, within 90 days of joining.
    • Not covered: layoffs or restructuring, a change to the role or the pay, or a fee paid late.

  7. 07Introduction period

    • The fee is due if your company hires a candidate we introduced within 12 months of the introduction, for any role, directly or through someone else.

  8. 08Shortlist Pack

    • The pack is priced by the role's CTC band, the same as the deposit above. It buys 5 tested profiles within 5 working days of payment, which you may approach and hire directly.
    • If you hire one of them within 12 months, a success fee of 5% of the hire's annual CTC is due.
    • Profiles that don't match the brief are replaced. The pack is refunded only if we can't replace them.

  9. 09Tax and invoices

    • GST at 18% is added for companies in India. Companies outside India are invoiced without GST, as an export of services.
    • A receipt is emailed when you pay online, and the tax invoice follows by email.

  10. 10Confidentiality and candidates

    • We keep your brief confidential and share it with candidates only as far as needed to assess them.
    • Candidate profiles we share are for your hiring decision only. Don't pass them on or contact a candidate's current employer.

  11. 11Liability

    • Our total liability for any request is limited to the fees you paid us for it.
    • Neither side is liable for indirect or consequential loss.

  12. 12Law and disputes

    • These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are first raised with us by email; if not settled within 30 days, they go to the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana.
    • We may update these terms. A change applies to requests sent after it is published here.
