Privacy policy

How Operators by Boring Commerce, the recruitment service of Boring Commerce LLP, India, collects, uses and protects personal data. It covers companies that send us roles and people who visit this site. Candidate applications are not open on this site yet; this policy will set out the candidate terms in full before they open.

  1. 01What we collect

    • When a company sends a role: the name, work email, phone number and company details of the person who sends it, and the role brief.
    • When you pay: the amount, the payment reference and the result of the payment. Card, UPI and bank details are entered with Razorpay or Stripe, not with us, and we never see them.
    • When you visit: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages viewed) and the campaign details in the link you arrived from.
  2. 02Why we use it

    • To reply to you, run the search you asked for, invoice you and keep the records tax and accounting law requires.
    • To keep this site secure and stop spam and abuse.
    • We don't sell personal data, and we don't use your details for unrelated marketing.
  3. 03Who we share it with

    • Payment processors: Razorpay for payments in India, and Stripe, through Boring Commerce LLC, for payments from outside India.
    • Service providers who host this site, our database and our email, under contract and only to run the service.
    • Candidates see a summary of your role, not your contact details, unless you agree.
    • Authorities, where the law requires it.
  4. 04How long we keep it

    • Role briefs and correspondence: for three years after our last work with you.
    • Invoices and payment records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires, currently up to eight years.
    • Server logs: up to 90 days.
  5. 05Where it is stored

    • On servers in India and with service providers who may process it outside India, under contract and with safeguards appropriate to the data.
  6. 06Your rights

    • Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to see, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, and raise a grievance.
    • Write to anish@boringcommerce.com with the subject "Privacy". We reply within 7 working days and act within 30 days. Records the law requires us to keep are kept until that period ends.
    • If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
  7. 07Grievance officer
